New Mexico State fires males’s basketball head coach Greg Heiar

New Mexico State fired basketball coach Greg Heiar on Tuesday within the wake of hazing allegations on the group that shut down this system for the remainder of the season.

Chancellor Dan Arvizu introduced the firing of the first-year coach and mentioned “hazing has no place on our campus, and those found responsible will be held accountable for their actions.”

The chancellor mentioned choices about the remainder of the teaching workers can be made after additional investigation.

Arvizu shut down this system for the season on Sunday, after reviewing a campus police report through which an Aggies participant mentioned three teammates ganged up on him and attacked him. The report, which redacted the names of the gamers, included allegations of false imprisonment, harassment and felony sexual contact.
